InforEuro offers the European Commission’s official monthly accounting rates for the euro, alongside conversion rates for various currencies and historical data dating back to 1994.

This static currency converter provides the European Commission’s official monthly accounting rate for the euro. These rates are established by the Accounting Officer of the European Commission in accordance with Article 19 of the Financial Regulation.

The rates are primarily used to calculate reimbursements for expenses, travel, or subsistence costs for individuals participating in meetings, interviews, and other activities at the European Commission’s request.

General users can also access monthly currency conversion rates from the current month back to 1994. These rates reflect the market rates on the second-to-last day of the previous month as quoted by the European Central Bank or, when necessary, provided by delegations or other appropriate sources.

InforEuro includes rates for both current and former currencies of countries within and outside the European Union. For each currency, historical conversion rates against the euro (or against the ecu, up until December 1998) are available. These exchange rates can be downloaded in electronic format starting from March 1994.
